Pastors Thoughts - June 2021
June 2021
A Thought from Pastor Bryson,
“Enter into His gate with thanksgiving, And into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name. For the LORD is good…” (Psalm 100:4-5 NKJV)
Beginning this month, we will open our doors to corporate worship. Because of the Coronavirus, it has been more than a year since we have met in a corporate setting. Although we will have a limited number in attendance out of caution, it is at least a beginning step towards fully reopening. Although we are taking steps to fully reopening, I doubt if things will be as they were before the virus swept across the world. Only time will tell.
Having not met in corporate worship with the members for over a year, one would think that Psalm 100:4:5-6 would take on extra meaning. It is my prayer that we gather with hearts filled with thanksgiving and praise. For sure it has been a challenging period. Some members will be missing, having transitioned from this life. Some members have had a hard struggle financially and otherwise. But we still have ample reasons to be thankful to God and to praise His name.
God has brought us through the storm; God has kept us in our right mind; our salvation is still secure, and the future is filled with hope as some of His promises have yet to be fulfilled. In spite of everything that has transpired, it is still our testimony that the Lord is good, and His mercy is everlasting.
It is my prayer that we return with renewed fervor for the Lord. I pray we have learned more about Him and ourselves in our absence from the corporate setting. I pray we have grown in appreciation for each other and will value our relationship as brothers and sisters in Christ. I pray that we will be more focused on doing “His work” rather than “church work.” I just pray His will be done and we experience more of Him as we continue the journey.
Thank you, Lord, for keeping us individually and collectively. Thank you that once again, we can gather to worship You. May we return responsibly, enthusiastically, and worship You in spirit and in truth. In Jesus name. Amen.
